Buy Moving Boxes
When planning to buy moving boxes, be sure to carefully consider all of the
items that you will need to pack in the boxes. Failing to allow extra boxes
for miscellaneous items that otherwise might be forgotten is the most
common error when embarking on the decision to buy moving boxes and which
boxes to choose.
Moving Boxes
One of the most important moving box areas is your closet. Wardrobe boxes
will safely transport all of your clothes without wrinkling or damage. When
you buy moving boxes, be sure to allow enough wardrobe boxes for all of
your family's clothes without having to smash them into the area provided.
Also, don't waste the space in the bottom of your wardrobe boxes. Put shoes
in plastic bags to keep any road dirt off of your clothes and fill the
bottom of the wardrobe box. This also helps keep shoes and clothing
together for unloading in your new closets.
Since moving boxes will arrive flat, taping them together properly is an
important task. Square them up, turn upside down and fold in the flaps.
Resist the urge to criss-cross the flaps as this will make the bottom weak.
Many boxes will instruct you on which flap to fold in first, but if not,
fold in the flaps with writing on them on the outside, so that all of your
boxes will be uniform.
Then use packaging tape to tape along the seam, putting some tape
cross-wise as well for support. If you will be packing fragile or heavy
items in the box, using some strapping tape as well would be advisable.
